πΌ The Internship Program
Our program provides a 50% wage subsidy (up to $5,000*), per student per term.
Students who self-identify within the following underrepresented categories may qualify for a 70% subsidy, (up to $7,000):
- Women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math; major or minor)
- Indigenous People
- People with disabilities
- Newcomers
- First-year students
- Visible minority
This 70% subsidy level is subject to availability and is not guaranteed. Employers should only count on a 50% wage subsidy. A studentβs exact subsidy level cannot be disclosed to the employer until the student has been hired. (*If this amount increases, we will be in touch with all employers immediately.)
IMPORTANT:
- Students who are eligible for 70% subsidy must indicate that they self-identify as part of one or more underrepresented (underserved) communities above by answering correctly to the relevant questions in their Student Application. Students cannot change this information after submitting their application.
- Employers cannot submit this information on behalf of their students.
